Experience
I earned my bachelor's degree in Biology from Arizona State University, and also attended Dominican University. I hold a Professional Educators' License in grades 6-12, including endorsements in biological, general, and physical sciences. I have served as a middle school science teacher, a high school biology teacher, and an earth space science teacher through the Teach for America program, and have also served as a summer school teacher for an advanced algebra class. I have experience in designing curricula and planning lessons, labs, and assessments. I have worked with students ranging from elementary schoolers to high schoolers, and am capable of tutoring courses including algebra, biology, chemistry, earth sciences, reading, writing, English, genetics, and AP Biology. I am also able to help students prepare for the ACT. I most enjoy tutoring students in science subjects, as it's great fun to show students the connections between the topics we study and how the world works. I am an enthusiastic educator, and I love helping my students achieve their academic goals. I take the time to discover my students' challenges and individual learning styles, and fine-tune my teaching style to meet their needs. When I'm not tutoring, I stay active by hiking, practicing yoga, and taking part and teaching CrossFit.
